What will you accept for consignment?
We are looking for gently used quality furniture
and accessories that are in "like new" condition and less
than 10 years of age. The items must be of a good quality construction,
have minimal wear and tear, and is of a style that would be of interest
to a large number of customers.
1. Case Goods (Tables, bookcases, bedroom furniture,
etc)
2. Upholstered Furniture (Sofas, Chairs, Recliners, etc.)
3. Decor (must be in perfect condition, and be able to price at $50
or more)
• Art
• Artwork
• Lamps (must have shade in excellent condition)
• Mirrors
• Rugs
Not accepted are mattresses, cribs, toddler beds, waterbeds, appliances, antiques, linens and kitchen ware or anything in need of repair or refinishing. We are looking for gently used quality furniture and accessories.
"How do you price my items?"
Consignment is a partnership and Upscale Resale Gallery strives to
get you the highest possible price for your merchandise. However,
it is in everyone's best interest to price items at a fair market
value that would realistically sell within 30 days. When all is said
and done, it is market response to an item that truly "sets the
price." If an item doesn't sell within 30 days, it will be reduced
by 10%. After 60 days, the item will be reduced by another 10%.
"How long is the consignment period?"
The consignment period is 90 days.* Should items not sell, you have
three options:
1) Pick up the items within 5 days of expiration.
2) Upscale Resale Gallery will donate them to charity
3) Direct Upscale Resale Gallery to sell items at the best price they
can obtain.
*Consignor is responsible for keeping track of 90
days.
"When do I get paid and how much?"
You receive 50% of the agreed-upon selling price; Upscale Resale Gallery
does all the work. Checks will be cut the 15th of each month for the
previous month's sales. You can pick up your check or it can
be mailed to you for a fee.
How to Consign.
We will need to see photos of the items so we can discuss condition, age and style. If possible, please also bring in a sample such as a seat cushion, dining chair or drawer. All this will allow us to agree on the initial asking price.

In order to consign your items with Upscale Resale
Gallery, all pieces must be clean and in good repair.
Small items are accepted during normal business hours. Small items
include but are not limited to:
Chairs
End Tables
Coffee tables
Lamps
Night Stands
Vases
Bookcases
Accessory Items
Pricing
Pricing is done by mutual agreement. Most of our consignors rely on
us to price their items since we have an excellent idea of what it
takes to sell an item. If any of your items have special or unusual
value, let us know so that we can factor that into our pricing.
Getting More for Your Consigned Items
All items must be ready for floor presentation and display upon arrival,
please clean your items before bringing them in. Remove dirt, dust,
fingerprints etc. Windex and Murphy cleaner are good products. Clean
off the cobwebs and spider nests from underneath your furniture. Inspect
each item carefully. Cloth items should have no rips, tears or stains.
Glass items should have no cracks or chips, and should be shined.
Wood products can be enhanced with Old English or similar product
to fill in scratches.
Large furniture is accepted by appointment. Please call us at 317-602-5000
to set up an appointment. Consignors and Customers must provide their
own help when bringing in furniture for consignment or when taking
out furniture they have purchased.
We also offer 3rd party delivery and pick-up service. Rates vary based
on location as well as number of items.
Check that all the screws are tightened. Loose joints
should be re glued. Loose jointed items do not sell, or if they do,
at a reduced price.
Ask yourself if you would buy this item. If not, chances are neither
will any one else. Customers want clean items. Some of our clients
have had their upholstered items professionally cleaned before consigning
with us which has helped us sell it quicker for them. At the very
least, vacuum under the cushions.
Lamps should have working light bulbs, clocks must be working. Pictures
must be ready to hang.
Items that sell have these qualities: eye appeal, quality, clean,
and fair price.
